Detox Diet Foods

Whenever we talk about food detox diet, the main category that focus on vegetables. Why? This is because these are the types of foods that are considered all natural and unprocessed. Containing the richest amount of nutrition and phytochemicals that functions to protect and heal your body.

The vegetables contain nutrients that can provide means of altering the DNA damage and block the development of cancer cells. Before a cell becomes cancerous, it would require such DNA damage that occur many times. Therefore, the consistent use of early vegetables is important to avoid this type of these events occurs.

The amount of vegetables a day is recommended at least eight to ten servings, and also include small amounts of fruits that are alkaline based. It is also advisable to eat a raw food diet, because the abundance of antioxidants, phytochemicals, minerals and lose when they are cooked. Here are some examples of cruciferous vegetables, which have an odor caused by nitrogen, sulfur, and glucose-containing chemicals called glucosinolates. This chemical conjugates to isothiocyanates, sulforaphane, dithiolethione, and indole-3-carbinol. All these are the major phytochemicals with anticarcinogenic properties. Vegetables D-glucarate also strongly in helping our phase two detoxification in the liver.

Isothiocyanates are known to accelerate the elimination of carcinogens. Indole-3-carbinol and D-glucarate are also strongly associated with protection against breast cancer and prostate cancer through its control of hormone production, and detoxification environmental toxins such as dioxins. It only makes sense to have them in our daily diet.

Garlic and onions

These belong to the allium family of vegetables which are characterized by their strong smell. This feature proves once again the activity of sulfur compounds in plants. The allium sulfur compounds are known to be effective protectors against cancer and cardiovascular disease. Study of an Iowa woman of Health found that women who consume large amounts of garlic have a 30% chance to lower colon cancer.

Another interesting point about garlic is that it is best eaten raw to benefit from its sulfur compound. However, when cut, it releases an enzyme called allicin that should allow 15 minutes before cooking. Why? The enzyme is transformed into another substance that has anti-cancer is not destroyed by heat. So do not agree to throw in your garlic to cook immediately after cutting, but leave at least 10 to 15 minutes.

Onions contain an important flavonoid called quercetin. It has been shown in test tube research a capacity to prevent the growth and the increase in breast cancer cells.
